How the training works

A balanced, reward-first method

Training is balanced and reward-based. It is built around the owner, because habits only stick when the person on the other end of the leash knows what to do.

  1. Start with an evaluationA free intake evaluation and consult comes first, so the trainer can match your dog to the right package before any training begins.
  2. Rewards come firstHigh-value treats or play start every new behavior, so the dog wants to do the work. Sessions can open with play and close with tug or fetch.
  3. Clearer guidance when neededWhen a dog needs a clearer signal, the trainer layers in low-level e-collar cues after first teaching the dog how the collar works. It gives precise feedback, and owners get a hands-on demonstration of how and why it is used.
  4. Real-world layersSkills are built in a quiet space, then tested with distractions and outings. Leash work moves from an indoor follow-me game to a driveway drill, a neighborhood loop and park practice.
  5. Owner hand-offOwner lessons teach you the cues and your own body language. You get progress updates, short videos when time allows, and homework to keep the habits going.
  6. Before training startsCurrent rabies and Bordetella vaccinations and flea prevention are required.

Leash tracks

  • Leash-Lite 7 daysPuppy collar comfort and follow-me games for new rescues and pups.
  • Urban Walkers 14 daysHeel, auto sit and ignoring crowds, for patio and downtown outings.
  • Trail Trekkers 21 daysHeel plus off-leash recall and hiking etiquette for beaches and trails.

Behavior tracks for reactivity and aggression

  • Reset-Lite 14 daysInterrupts low-level barking and lunging and teaches focus games, for dogs that react to bikes or strollers.
  • Reset Plus 21 to 28 daysDesensitizes moderate reactivity and introduces basket-muzzle comfort, for dogs that snap within leash length.
  • Rehab Intensive 35 daysA full Behavior Adjustment Training protocol with owner field trips, for dogs with a bite history or multi-dog fights.

Behavior tracks use rewards, counter-conditioning and Behavior Adjustment Training, and include muzzle comfort work. Trainers keep sessions small, with no more than six dogs per trainer.
